This is about a month old, but I'm seeding it for two reasons:
1) Newsvine seems to not have it yet
2) This may be one of the finest pieces of journalism I've seen in recent times, perhaps years.
It's very clearly unbiased, it simply calls into question Greenpeace's campaign against Apple, asking for actual and relevant data (which Greenpeace never provided). In addition, it criticizes the "largely uncritical media coverage" on the subject, which has been my biggest beef as well.
To top it all off, the article points out how Chinca's coal industry — which Greenpeace doesn't spend anywhere near the amount of time and energy and publicity on compared to their Apple-assaults — is a significantly bigger issue. Translation: Greenpeace is doing publicity-whoring for its own benefits, rather than the environment.
This is the kind of journalism that I created the Newsvine group Distortion Free Radio for. Really, I should be seeding it for that reason alone.
